Over hard? WTF....
I love eggs. I enjoy the taste. I love them in so many different ways - hard boiled, over easy, sunnyside up, scrambled, poached - love that yolk pouring in my mouth and down my throat.
So a month ago, I was at the cottage with my friends and I was making breakfast. I asked one of them how he wants his eggs and he said "over hard". Over Hard? WTF is that? I've never heard of this style before. I told him that and he said "You don't know your eggs". This is an insult to me since I LOOOOOVVVVVVVVEEEEEE eggs. Seriously...is there really such a thing? Over hard is making sure the egg yolk is hard....come on...that's OVER COOKED. Ok, yes, I could google "over hard" eggs and I'm sure there will be hits but I refuse to think that this is a "REAL" style that people want. That's not saying it's not good. I know I have many a times fried my eggs too long and ended up with "over hard"....and damn I still liked it! But that's not the point. Over hard eggs are mistakes, not a style.
Come on egg lovers, give me your thoughts!

If people can choose from rare to medium done on steak, I don't see why not they can't like "hard" eggs. It's all personal preferences. If no one is criticizing your yellowish slimy dripping liquid, then let them have their "hard" eggs in peace.
Having said all that, I do however agree, I've never heard of such a term as "over hard". So I did a little surf on line and here is what I found:
"There are several methods used to finish cooking the eggs. They can be left unturned and can be basted with the hot fat. A few drops of water can be added and the pan can be covered to steam cook the eggs. The eggs can also be finished by carefully turning them over using a spatula once they have firmed up on the bottom. The eggs are then cooked until the yolks are at a desired doneness, such as over easy (runny yolk), over medium (soft yolk), or over hard (firm yolk)."

True, you can get a steak rare to medium....but what if you here someone ask for a well done steak. Come on...to really enjoy a steak, you want it roughly around medium rare....well done is just stupid. It's like ordering sushi but asking for it cooked. Ok, that's a little more extreme but that's how I feel about over hard...

I disagree.
(First of all, it was a mistake in my previous post. I meant to say "from rare to well done".)
I believe people should have the freedom to choose what they like. You can't say something is stupid just because you don't enjoy it.

I agree with you that people have the freedom to do anything and they can choose what they like...I still think that some things are just silly...maybe stupid was too strong a word but I have the freedom to feel that way ;-)
Illusion, we have known each other a long time now....I know you find a lot of things I do stupid ;-)
