Too old for Dance Dance Revolution
Am I too old for Dance Dance Revolution? I'm a 32 year old guy who just loves Dance Dance Revolution but I'm horrible at it. I recently started playing it to use it as my weekly workout. I've always been impressed watching kids in the arcade hammering on the mat and getting perfect on the hardest levels...now I think I've played it quite a bit but I can't come anywhere close to their level...I still struggle on "standard" levels. I find it very hard to process all the arrows going by as they are bunched together. Am I just too old? Should I just give in to the fact that my prime is over and be satisfied that I can still jump? Or do I just need to keep practicing? Come on DDR folks, please tell me what the trick is. Do I just need to memorize the beats and patterns? Granted I'm using a crappy $10 pad so I know a metal pad would definately help. However, I can't even process the arrows...a metal pad won't really help me in this case.
Tell me what I need to do!!
BTW, for those not familiar with DDR, check out this video. You may want to do a save as since it's about 12MB.

Yeah....that's what I'm planning to do but I really don't like doing the same song again....but it's probably the only way to master it.
