Ai ya - 哎呀!
Sorry folks. Still haven't got around to sitting down and writing up a few stories. The last few weekends have been busy. I'm currently in Shanghai right now for the May 1st holiday. It's one week of holidays for everyone in China. Shanghai is hot, humid, and very crowded. I may head off to Hangzhou tomorrow if my friends and I can get a 1 day bus ticket but I seriously doubt that is possible.
Anyways, maybe when I'm back in Beijing by the end of the week, I will try to take some time to write more and post some pictures.

Erika, I'm understanding a bit more every day but still having problems expressing myself. I think after my 3 month course, I may return to Canada and then come back to China for a 6 month to a year. Not sure though yet.
Chocobo, yup I'm back from Shanghai and Hangzhou. Yes I didn't like Hangzhou last time I've been there but everyone keeps telling me how good it is. Well guess what, after going there for a second time, I still hate the place! I found the people quite rude. Except for our taxi driver who did an AWESOME job of getting us to the bus station just in time! I think I'm getting used to the driving now...can't wait to come back to Canada and drive like that!

Hangzhou people are so rude? What is different point between normal Chinese and Hangzhou people?

Erika,
Well 4 years ago, I went to Hangzhou and I remember walking up to a lady asking her (in Chinese) if she spoke any English. She just turned to me and yelled at me...she was saying something like it was shameful I didn't speak Chinese or something of the sort. Later in the day, one store wouldn't give me the change she owed me...had to fight for it.
As for this time around, everyone just keeps pushing and shoving with no apologies... When I went to ask someone a question, they just kept walking even though she knew I was asking her a question. This is just my experience though, I'm sure others must of had better experiences there than I did.

Oh, that's absolutely rude! I even lagued at the story...
How do they live each other? They only treated like this for foreginers?
I've never been done such rude things in Japan. I can say Japanese are more polite.

Jeff, you are a dead man if you ever come back to Toronto. Are you trying to ruin Chinese people's image?!!
But I have to say, Japanese are extremely polite. That itself can be a major tourist attaction.
Being a Chinese, it's sad to see bad manners form other Chinese people. And the saddest thing is that they don't even realized how rude their actions can be.

oh nooo.... I am not trying to ruin the chinese image...just Hangzhou's ;-)
Here's a good story...kind of...at a dance club, one of my classmates almost got into a fight with someone else. However, the bouncer took him aside and asked him if he had a problem still and was very polite. In Canada, the bouncer would of thrown him right out with force.
