Last Life In The Universe

Last night, I watched a Thai film called Last Life In The Universe. It's about a Japanese librarian who wants to kill himself until the death of a girl brings him in contact with the dead girl's sister. Now I'm not sure why I am intrigued with this film since I'm not even sure if I completely understand it, but, I loved how the director develops thei relationship between them. This is not a boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy wins girl back. This is a drama with some dark comedy sprinkled throughtout the film. If you don't like artsy films and want everything spelt out for you, this movie is not for you. I think the director wanted the audience to interpret the events in their own way.
